The Brisbane International is a fantastic tournament. In some ways, I think, it's better than the Australian Open. I was there part of the time as photographer for Nick Kyrgios, with shots appearing on Nick's social media, especially Facebook.

That Ball

Taking a sharp photo of a ball squashed against a racquet during a match is pretty cool. Getting one of a ball coming through the other side is even better! Taken during Nick Kyrgios' first match in his title defense.

Osaka Smile

A few weeks after this Naomi Osaka would win the hearts of millions along with a cheque to match - $4.1 million to be exact! But before she was the 2019 Australian Open champion you could be forgiven for thinking Naomi was just a sweet girl with a tennis racquet and a beautiful smile practicing away in Brisbane. But then... BAM! A second consecutive Grand Slam title & newly ranked World Number One! Amazing! She is a sweet girl with a tennis racquet and a beautiful smile for sure, but not just that.
