Airport Rifle
I took this photo while
queuing to check-in my luggage at Melbourne ‘Tullamarine’
Airport. It wasn’t loaded - my luggage, that is. I guess
someone read the list of what you can and can’t take on a
plane AFTER they’d got to the airport - you know how it is
:)

Didga The
Great
Didga, the most
talented cat on the planet, chills on a post at the coast.
She has over 100,000,000 Facebook video views & is the Guiness
World Record holder of 'Most Tricks By A Cat In One Minute',
and I photograph her simply sitting on a post. What was I
thinking???

Rankins Lane
If you can’t paint a
girl painting a toucan in Rankins Lane then where can you?
Oh, you can? Super!
You might not be able to park there, but you
can’t have everything:)
Shot at night, handheld, in case you were wondering.

Wedded Light - Candid
As the low evening sun
illuminates the Yarra River, a newly wedded couple stroll
gracefully, pausing and posing for photos along the way. The
bride even posed for a few candid photos for me.
There are no tricks here, folks. No HDR, no added lens
flare - just a lovely
shot of a lovely-looking couple at a lovely time of day.

Surf Alley
Surf Alley, Byron Bay,
is home to some pretty cool street art. This is part of what
is currently there (June 2018).
The photo is aligned perfectly with the brickwork. If only
those pipes were too!

Very Hairy
This
photo reminds me of my grandparents because, like this
draught horse, they were very hard workers.

Saint Omer
“Ay,
you be right thar, Cap’n… There be no prawns for catchin’ up
‘ere!”
The trawler Saint Omer is an iconic feature of the Eat
Street Northshore food markets, serving a bounty of seafood
to discerning Brisbane diners. Where it once trawled for
prawns in the Pacific Ocean it now trawls for customers on
specific land.
This photo was taken from aboard 24m luxury charter yacht
Pure Adrenalin Charters which is an incredible vessel - both
boats are pretty awesome! As it turns out the captain is a friend
of the trawler’s former owner and held the ship steady for
me so I could get the shot. 1/4 second, handheld, ISO200
night shot taken from a boat afloat - nice!

Broken For Us
A
broken figurine of Jesus Christ on a gravestone reminds us
of the historical figure crucified two thousand years ago.
The writers of the New Testament make it clear that...
Jesus died in our place
To pay the price for our sin
Then He rose from the grave
So we can forever live with Him

thousand words, then this one is worth countless thousands more.

Random Seagull
Sometimes as you
journey down the paths of life, something unexpected will
come your way. Maybe it’s a new relationship, a new career,
a new idea, or a random seagull. This time it was the
seagull.

Incoming - Ed Force One
The
world’s most photographed plane - Ed Force One, the 747 that
English heavy metal band Iron Maiden are flying around the
world co-piloted by lead singer Bruce Dickinson on their The
Book Of Souls World Tour - roars in over the Brisbane city
skyline, thus heralding a music feast not likely to be
surpassed or repeated in the next few years. No
Photoshopping here, folks - this is the one photo. Magic!. Brisbane Airport, 2 May 2016.
Oh, and for any planespotters, this photo wasn't taken from
the usual spot, but around the other side of the airport
near the fire brigade.

747 Tail
Livery
Just so
you’re sure what you’re looking at here, it’s a part of the
tail section of Ed Force One, the 747 that English heavy
metal band Iron Maiden are flying around the world,
co-piloted by lead singer Bruce Dickinson, on their The Book
Of Souls World Tour. So as you stare lovingly into the eyes
of band mascot Eddie, take a moment to notice the left-hand
side of the image - it shows where the rudder joins the
vertical stabiliser. And you thought it was just a pretty
face:)

Trooper Beer Label - Up Close
Have
you ever wondered what a beer label looks like up really
close? No? Well here’s your chance. Charge!
The Charge of the Light Brigade was a military
disaster but that hasn’t stopped English heavy metal band
Iron Maiden & Robinsons Brewery immortalising it in Trooper
Beer, an ale developed with the help of lead singer Bruce
Dickinson.
So if you buy it, spare a thought for those who paid the
ultimate price for their country, and turn the volume up
LOUD!

Big Night For Little Ted
I found
this teddy bear around the back of the sideshow. I tried to
rouse him to make sure he was ok. He wasn’t. His head was
spinning, the world was turning, he’d been on one too many
rides a few too many times. He insisted he’d be ok so I let
him be. I walked past later on - the stuffed pizza was gone
- in its place, stuffed vomit. Oh teddy!

Wishing Tree
With a heart-red Story
Bridge overhead, two tiny figures chat coyly beneath the
glistening leaves of a Brisbane Wishing Tree. Are they
wishing for love, for trust, for hope for a future? Whatever
it is, our wishes reveal our hearts, shaping us as we make
this journey. They are the fears we shake, bad habits we
break, the chances we take in life.

Grounded Cows
Jerm:
"I
didn't always want to be a cow, you know. When I was younger
I wanted to be an astronaut, but now I'm more down to earth. So don't believe all that "cow
jumped over the moon" mumbo jumbo. I think most of us have
tried doing it at one stage or another without even moderate success.
That's just a con-descending tail."

Caged King
This
somber & sobering moment in time was taken at the Darling Downs Zoo. In
contrast though, all the animals looked good and well-looked
after. This included the lions.

Christmas
Hope
Hope: At times delicate
and dangling by a thread, but it’s precious and always
present. Christmas reminds me of that, even if we sometimes
get things the wrong way round.
