The Light / Art Version
It’s not that Jordan ‘sees the light’,
it’s that the light ‘sees him’ :)
I had a bit of fun with this one. I don't doctor my photos,
but I thought it'd be cool if there was some sort of beam of
light lighting Jordan's face as he seemed to be gazing
heavenward. So I turned it into art. Now it's not a photo
but a creative expression.

Seth Morrison / Rock Art
Seth Morrison, guitarist for American
hard rock band Skillet, in action during the first few songs
of their breathtaking set at Eatons Hill Hotel. Skillet were
huge, blowing away fans here and across Australia on their
2018 Australian Tour, presented by Metropolis Touring. If

2017 Royal Queensland Show
This creative photo
composite is designed to be spectacular - reminiscent of a
classic fantasy art poster from the '80s & '90s. It's got a 'book of Revelation' feel to it - though it really has
nothing to do with it. But it looks like it could be, so I
call it Revelation Road.
I originally called it Super Duper Moon and I entered it
under that name into the 2017 Royal Queensland Show photo
comp. It won its category - 'Creative - Digital Imagery,
Altered Reality' - and went on to win the top prize -
Champion Print - of the whole show. See my other Ekka
photos here.
I've overemphasized the contrast & colour somewhat to help
with that fantasy look. But apart from that, it's all made
from
my photos.
The photos...
The photo of the Supermoon (Hunter's Moon, Nov 2016) was
taken from Mt Coot-tha,
Brisbane, along with a thousand other people. Even though the moon was the closest it will be
until 2034, it didn't look anywhere near this big. I chose
to let some of the stars behind it show through to emphasise
other-worldliness.
The bird is a White-bellied Sea-Eagle flying over Moreton
Island.
The main photo featuring the ground and night sky is a long
exposure shot taken west of Toowoomba after midnight, one
cold night.
The shooting star was taken out past Toowoomba
(see photo in Nature).
Jupiter is also featured with four moons, taken in Brisbane.
I created this picture to enter into the 2017 Royal
Queensland Show's photo comp, so it's pretty cool that it
not only won its category but won the whole thing.

Adriano De Souza (2015
WSL World Champion) enjoying some airtime at the 2018
Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast.
This time last year Adriano posted one of my photos on
Instagram. Out of the 10000s of photos taken by 100s of
photographers he only posted 1 photo taken during
competition. Mine. So as a bit of a tribute I’ve done this.
It’s one of the photos I took of him competing this year
with the colour removed, a hint of colour added along with
the writing from his jersey. Hope you like it.

Showtime FMX riders
Robbie Marshall & Pete Anderson put on an awesome display of
aerial acrobatics that shouldn’t really be possible! What
can be done mid-air and at speed, in variable wind
conditions on - or off - a motorcycle blows me away!

River
Monster / Art Version
On the riverbank it
waits, lurks, hides. Under the cloak of dusk, hungry, it
rises from the rocky mudflats to devour the unsuspecting.
Prey, pray. There is nowhere to run, no way of escape, no
hope of ever making it out alive... Oh, it's only just a
couple of gnarly trees. Phew!
I was, however, stabbed in the leg by a jutting piece of
wood as I tried to leave, so maybe it was a river monster
after all!
