This was one of those shows that will
go down in history as truly EPIC! The best show at the best
festival in the whole world!
The performers... the incredible orchestra
conducted by the best conductors... the best auditorium with
the best sound... the songs, did I mention the songs? WOW!
What a night!
Oh, interestingly, no other photographer did
what I did - shoot the show PLUS shoot the action backstage.
Quincy Jones was joined by these special guests for an
exceptional closing night…
Sheléa, -M- (Matthieu Chedid), Ibrahim Maalouf, Jon Batiste, Lauren Jauregui, Jonah Nilsson, Daley
+ dancing superstar Salif Gueye, all accompanied by the Sinfonietta de Lausanne
conducted by John Clayton and Jules Buckley along with Quincy's
own backing
band which features musicians such as Larnell Lewis on
drums... and you start to get the picture!
They played the most popular hits
produced, composed and arranged by Quincy Jones in the
eighties (plus a few older ones), all in the incredible Auditorium Stravinski,
officially closing the 53rd Montreux Jazz Festival!
If you've been living under a
soundproof rock and are not sure who Quincy Jones
is, he has a record 80 Grammy Award nominations, won 28 Grammys,
produced Michael Jackson's albums Off The Wall, Thriller
(bestselling album ever) & Bad, produced & conducted
charity song We Are The World, worked with Frank Sinatra, was inducted into the Rock &
Roll Hall Of Fame, named by Time Magazine as one of the
most influential jazz musicians of the 20th Century, produced movies such as The Color Purple and TV shows
such as The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. And there's more - much
more!
