Michael Sweet - The Voice Of Stryper -
Intimate & Acoustic at the Woolly Mammoth, Brisbane.
Presented by Silverback Touring. Fri 15 Nov 2019.
Michael Sweet is a living legend! He is, after all, the lead
singer & guitarist for Christian metal phenomenon Stryper -
a band that has filled arenas around the world & sold 8
million albums along the way!
On Friday night Michael, armed
with an acoustic guitar, played an intimate club show
singing songs from Stryper, his solo career, Sweet &
Lynch, Boston, & even a Bon Jovi cover. There were stories,
questions from the crowd, banter, lots of laughs, and sadly
an end. Michael is an awesome singer, songwriter, guitarist,
entertainer and nice bloke. Straight after the show he went
to the merch desk to sign and meet fans. Nice!
Thanks, Michael. You're always welcome at our place (ie
Australia).
Please note: The crowd photo was taken by Michael
Sweet with my
camera. Thanks, mate! |

Not Just Your Shoes, Michael!
I'm taking this photo with a very
wide-angle lens, leaning over the foldback in front of me, when at the conclusion of the song Michael says to
me, "Are you taking photos of my shoes?"
I quickly explained it was a very wide lens getting his
pedals, the roof & everything in between in the shot &
showed him a shot in the viewfinder.
I then asked him if he'd take a photo of the crowd for me
which he did, which is the final photo on this page. Nice.
Thanks, Michael!

Two thumbs up from me. Yeah, that's me
on the left sticking my tongue out with both thumbs up.
I was leaning over the speaker in front of me, taking photos
with a very wide-angle lens, when Michael
asked me if I was taking photos of his shoes (see photo
above where you can actually see his shoes). I explained I
was getting everything from the floor to the roof and showed
him on my camera. I then asked him if he'd take a photo of the crowd for
me. He said he was very happy to do so. I handed him my camera, told him which button to press,
and this is the resulting image.
So thanks for taking the photo, Michael!
It wasn't a big crowd. There were multiple concerts on that
night
in Brisbane including at the showgrounds. But everyone there loved the show and I think it shows.
